From our family to yours:

All of us at Goose Watch want to thank you for your continued support throughout this pandemic.  It is likely safe to assume that none of us has ever witnesses or experienced anything like this is our lifetimes. The safety and well-being of our staff and customers is our greatest concern. At Goose Watch, and our sister properties, Swedish Hill and Penguin Bay, we are taking many steps to minimize risk of exposure. We have increased our cleaning protocols in all areas of the winery.

We have currently resumed seated flight style tastings and are open daily 11am-5pm.

Curbside pickup continues to be available to anyone who prefers not to come into the tasting room.  This is also a quick and convenient way to purchase your wine.  Simply call our main office at 1.888.549.9463 to place your order and let us know what day and time that you plan to pick up.  If you supply our credit card information to us at that time, we will have your order ready when you arrive.  Call us from the parking lot when you arrive and we will deliver your wine to your vehicle.

While we hope that we can all return to a more normal way of life in the not too distant future, we want to take the opportunity to thank all of our valued customers for your support of our wines in the past as well as through the COVID19 pandemic.  The online orders, curbside pickup orders and now the visits to our tasting rooms have been gratifying and we are humbled and very appreciative of your business and kind words.

GOOSE WATCH WINERY IS AWARDED “BEST ROSÉ” AT THE  SOMMELIER CHALLENGE IN SAN DIEGO

The Sommelier Challenge is an annual competition held in San Diego that is judged entirely by panels of sommeliers, which represent some of the most esteemed restaurants in the country.  While the panel of judges are from throughout the United States, most are from some of the top restaurants in California.

Goose Watch brought home “Best in Show Rosé Wine” and “Best Rosé” titles along with a gold, platinum and silver medal. 2017 Cabernet Franc Rosé took the “Best in Show Rosé Wine” and “Best Rosé” titles, 94 point rating and the platinum medal!! The gold medal was awarded to their 2017 Pinot Grigio, which also received a 92 point rating. The silver medal was awarded to the 2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir. “Winning the top award for Dry Rosé is a great honor for our winery and is a testament for the quality of Finger Lakes Rosé in general.  The cool Finger Lakes climate and our glacier derived soils produce great fruit driven crisp dry Rosés,” remarked Goose Watch Co-Owner David Peterson.

GOOSE WATCH WINERY’S PINOT NOIR BRUT ROSE NAMED BEST SPARKLING WINE AT THE NY WINE & FOOD CLASSIC

Romulus, NY  ̶  August 14, 2015  ̶  Goose Watch Winery is honored to have two of its wines recognized in the “Best of” categories at this week’s New York Wine & Food Classic.

The Pinot Noir Brut Rosé was awarded “Best Sparkling Wine” and a double gold medal and Goose Watch Winery’s 2014 Traminette was named “Best Traminette” along with a gold medal at this competition.

This was the 30th year of the New York Wine & Food Classic, also known as the “Oscars” of competitions for the    409 wineries across the state. This year a panel of 21 judges evaluated 858 wines awarding 68 double gold, 80 gold,      351 silver, and 274 bronze medals.

Best-NY-Sparkling-Wine“It’s a great honor for us to receive this award” remarked Goose Watch Winery’s owner, Dave Peterson. “We have produced this dry rosé sparkling wine for nearly 20 years, and through the years we have seen a steady interest in its popularity. Altogether dry rosés are becoming more sought after, especially in the Finger Lakes as winemakers are able to be quite innovative with the different premium varieties that our region is able to produce. Our Pinot Noir Brut Rosé is no exception as it also highlights the region’s ability to craft impressive sparkling wines.”

In total Goose Watch Winery was awarded 17 medals including a double gold medal for its 2013 Cabernet Franc Ice wine, along with five silver medals and nine bronze medals. This was the first competitive entry for this bottling of the Pinot Noir Brut Rosé, where as the 2014 Traminette was also awarded a double gold medal at the 2015 New York State Fair Commercial Wine Competition and a gold medal at California’s Long Beach Grand Cru last month.

Goose Watch Winery, owned by the Peterson Family, is located on Route 89 in Romulus, NY with a scenic tasting room overlooking Cayuga Lake.
