Goose Watch Winery

Goose Watch History

Goose Watch Winery is part of the rich history of the Finger Lakes, a vibrant cool climate wine region in America.

Goose Watch Winery began production in 1997 under the wings of the Peterson Family, owners of Swedish Hill Winery.

With 120 acres of land overlooking Cayuga Lake, the Petersons have developed it into one of the area’s most extraordinary wineries with a beautifully restored century old barn as its tasting room, surrounded by vineyards, gardens and breathtaking views.

Goose Watch has 27 acres of vineyards with six different grape varieties, as well as some additional vineyard acreage located just a few miles north of the winery. With an emphasis on the unusual, the Petersons strive for and have succeeded in developing a selection of wine at Goose Watch that is uncommonly found in the Finger Lakes, such as Viognier, Pinot Grigio, Traminette, Melody, Diamond, and Lemberger.

The family continues to produce many innovative wines, with new releases frequently! The initial production at Goose Watch in 1997 of 6,000 cases has grown to reach over 15,000 cases annually today.

The signature varietals and blends at Goose Watch have acquired numerous gold medals at several wine competitions including “Best Rosé”, “Best Sparkling”, and “Best Dessert Wine” multiple years at New York competitions as well as from national and international events.
